Volvo are conducting a large field test with the aim of preventing any injury or accident in a Volvo by 2020.

This technology has not been installed on that many Volvo cars but it can track just how well someone can handle a certain situations.

The technology will monitor the drivers behaviour whilst driving and analyse how this changes depending on the situation. The great thing about this test is that it allows other things to be happening at the same time so they are spending their money in the right way.

What happens is there are cameras actually within the car that can look at how a drivers head and eyes move. The really good thing about the cameras is that they are being placed at the front and back to make sure every motion is captured.

“In order to move towards a crash-free future, we need to learn more about what kind of mistakes and situations that might lead to accidents,” says John-Fredrik Gr¶nvall, senior Research engineer and leader of the Field Operational Tests (FOT) at Volvo Cars.

Sweden are one of the main places that are going to be doing this with over 150 vehicles being equipped with it all. In addition, 275 vehicles in Europe will get less advanced equipment and another 1,000 responses will be secured by letting the drivers fill in a survey,” says Trent Victor, research leader for Road User Behaviour at SAFER.

“This project gives us an opportunity to prove the effectiveness of today’s range of preventive safety features and it will also help our engineers develop future safety solutions,” continues John-Fredrik Gr¶nvall.

In the future this type of research could well lead to an environment that is completely crash free. Using the existing safety technology, such as vehicle stability programmes, in conjuntion with this behavioural research technology could really supplement our driving.

Of course it is obvious that a lot of people are just not interested in getting a Volvo which is why of course you could look into getting BMW Cars. The BMW 1 series has got to be the way forward on this so you should really look into getting one of these. Of course you could always go after used cars as these can also prove to be help you out a lot. You really need to think on this one.

A decade ago, buying a hybrid was a lonely business. There were only two to choose from the original Honda Insight and the gawkily styled 1997 Mark I Prius and both attracted small numbers of buyers.

Although a hybrid does emmit less C02 than a normal car it is a long way off from emitting no C02 altogether which is why it is only at its first stage.

The propulsion systems that completely eliminate tailpipe emissions include hydrogen-powered fuel cells and the battery-powered electric motor, but both face significant hurdles before they can compete with conventional cars.

More promising is the electric car. Like a fuel-cell vehicle it produces no tailpipe emissions and little noise, and the distribution network for its energy source largely exists taking electricity the final few metres to a charging post is nothing compared to establishing a hydrogen infrastructure.

The major problem when it comes to electric car is the distance of which they can travel, it is only around 100 miles whereas the normal car is around 300 plus.

If you actually think about it 80-100 miles is way more than you will need for a daily commute but for longer journeys the chrage times takes hours which means it is not going to be very good. The new Vauxhall which is set to be released in 2012 is set to be one of the big compromises when it comes to the green car.

For the first 40 miles it runs on electricity alone more than enough for most commutes but for longer journeys an on-board petrol engine recharges the battery to provide a range of more than 300 miles at 40g/km of CO2, or under half what the Prius produces.

The ease of recharging it, and pure electric cars, is likely to be improved by policies intended to encourage electric car ownership. The government at the moment will actually help you out by giving around £5000 but the mayor of London wants to make the city one of the leaders in the electric car.

However until such a green car comes out that is actually worth going after something a bit less greener so why not look into the Cheap Audi or of course a Audi TT Roadster

Failing this you could even look into getting Used Cars however it is really up to you on what you do on this but I would say the best thing to do is just wait and see if things are actually going to get worse before you do anything.

So yea we arent actually at the stage where the entire car is actually able to be powered by the sun but with this it is getting very close indeed. Well at the moment on the market is something that could attach onto your car that could actually benefit you in several ways. The worst thing about air con is that it not only wears down your car battery but it also slowly brings down the fuel count as well.

It works as you can attach it onto a specially made spoiler in which when you aren’t driving you roll out the cover over the top of your car and it starts to actually charge the car up with solar energy. Once this has actually been put onto your car you can actually use it to power a lot of the gadgets within it including the CD player.

If you think where this kind of technology will be in 20 years time you will begin to understand the potential to this kind of product. Yea the cover itself is quite ugly and will not actually end up powering thing for very long but if more people buy it then more money is invested into the technology to make it better for the future.

It is unsure if they are going to release this product onto the market or not as of yet but if they do it is sure to start selling to the people who are really interested in these green products.

For people that don’t really care about this and need a new car then look into getting anew Audi or perhaps aAudi TT Roadster. There are also manyused cars if you do not fancy splashing out on a brand new car.

So it is up to you really on whether you are interested in getting a brand new green car that is going to help save the world and fix some of the awful damages that we have inflicted on it or if you are going to go out and buy a brand new car to enjoy, the choice is really up to you.

The Corvette is a iconic car built by Chevrolet ( A GM brand) and now into its 6th generation. The first corvette was designed by Harely Earl (the legend) and was introduced to the market during the 1950s.

The six generations all contained different versions and are commonly referred to as C1 -C6. The C6 generation that is in production does for example include several models including the epic ZR1 which featured the strongets motor ever is in a Corvette.

All Corvettes have fans but none is as beloved as the Corvette Stingray, which is a second generation Corvette and the first Corvette coupe with split rear window and non-functional hood vents. It was produced from 1963 to 1967 and featured independent rear suspension. The 1963 model was the only one with the distinct split window; Chevrolet director of high performance Zora Arkus-Duntov didn’t like the design and removed it from the coming models together with the non-functional hood vents.

Today, the newest Corvette model to come out of Chevrolet is the C6 ZR1, a high performance version of the C6. While Corvettes were originally built in Flint, Michigan and St. Louis, Missouri, but the latest ZR1 version is built in Kentucky (Bowling green) with an engine built in Wixom, Michigan.

The C6 ZR1 has been in production since 2009 and was declared “2009 Best Bang for the Buck” by the duPont Registry. Iit was as an example namned the “2009 performance car” by the motoring show ” Top Gear a title it has proven itself worthy of by completing the nurburgring nordschleife in 7 minutes and 26.4 seconds.

The ZR1 engine produces 638hp (476kW), and 604foot-pounds (819Newton metres) of torque. Known as the LS9, the engine is a modified version of the LS3 and contains a sixth-generation Eaton TVS R2300 roots 4-lobe supercharger with intercooler. The supercharge and its output have been been designed not to change the appearance of the hood.

It is the first Corvette model ever to feature oil injectors that help reduce noise and improve cooling, the system also uses oil squirters tha make sure the pistons and cylinders always are well lubricated. Lubrication is further improved by using a modified version of the dry sump earlier found on the LS7.

The design team that designed the ZR1 did a lot to reduce weight including making a lot of parts out of carbon fibre and making the chassi out of aluminium. The carbon fibre have been specially treated not to be damaged by sunlight. The official curb weight of the car is a mere 1,520kg (3,352lb).

The breakes on the ZR1 needed to be strong to work well with the powerful engine and the theme behind the car therefore decided to use a break system originally designed for Ferrari. The rear brakes are the 14.5in (370mm) carbon ceramic rotors that were originally developed as front rotors for the Ferrari Enzo, while the front brake rotors feature a carbon ceramic design highly similar to the one found in the Ferrari FXX track car but10 mm smaller in diameter. At 60 mph (over 96 km/h), the ZR1 will stop within 96 feet (less than 30 meters).

The Riversimple urban car actually has a very small fuel cell and looks like it is going to be the smallest one to date so far.

The vehicle is no bigger than a Smart car, weighing just 350kg, and has been developed over three years by teams at Oxford and Cranfield universities. It can reach 50mph and travel in excess of 200 miles, consuming the equivalent petrol energy of 300mpg in hydrogen.

Power comes from a 6kw fuel cell, which is tiny compared to the 100kw system powering the Honda Clarity. It uses a composite body to keep the weight down and four electric motors on each wheel, which double as brakes and electricity generators.

Another big point to this car is that it allows you to store a lot of electricty within it which means you can get the most out of accelerating power.

Design for the Riversimple cars will be placed online in an ‘open source’ environment, meaning any small manufacturer can lease the design, better suiting local environments and allowing for the car to be built almost anywhere in the world.

One of the great things is that you can lease this car and the lease will actually cover you for the cost of the fuel too.

The head of Riversimple has always been a strong believer in pushing technology forward and he realises that this is going to be big. The sale of cars still rewards the maximisation of resource use whereas we now accept that we must minimize resource use.”

“The Riversimple Urban Car represents a major step towards practical 21st century personal transport and towards the fulfilment of my great-grandfather’s ambitions for accessible personal transport but this time combining his other passions: light weight and high efficiency,” said Piech.

The real question to ask is will they be upgrading things likeused cars to make them greener? If you have recently gone out and purchased a Audi R8 then you are not going to be pleased when you cannot upgrade it to make it a bit greener. Audi Carsare just one of the brands that needs to be looked into.

Everybody knows that passing a driving test can be a great achievement, and this feeling is even better when you can get your first car. You now have the freedom to go where you want, when you want without relying on other people or waiting around for public transport. It is just great knowing that you don’t have to keep borrowing your friends car whenever you need to get somewhere important, for example. But what car would be ideal for those who have just passed their driving test? A great quality used car is the answer to this.

Individuals often find that as initial outlays go, used cars are always best, especially when tax and insurance is taken into consideration. Plus a new driver may feel more comfortable driving a used car than having the responsibility of driving a brand new model. And most parents of teenagers who have just passed their driving tests will always prefer to get their kids a used car as opposed to a brand new one.

Always ensure the used car to be purchased is in good condition. Price will always play a large role in determining which used car you are going to purchase. Irrespective though as to whether you buy a used car or new one, it will still set you back a fair amount of money. Today, used cars are easy to find and for the most part they are in great condition, safe to drive, and more importantly, affordable.

Because some car manufacturers second hand cars are more reliable than others, it pays to do some research on these before purchasing your car. Some cars tend to experience more problems as they age and others will go for years and years without a problem. Before buying a used car, it would be a good idea to have someone you know, who is mechanically minded, to check it over first.

For great used cars, or a lovely used toyota or used vauxhall wouldnt it be superb to drive a new used car?

Whenever you are looking into a paper it is never about the new cars or how cars are changing to save the environment but how they are constantly killing people. In most cases it is often the driver that is in the wrong despite it being blamed on the vehicle.

If you were to see two newspapers in a shop one with the front page headline CAR CRASH KILLS 5 PEOPLE or the headline to another with CAR SAVED MY LIFE there is no doubt that you would go for the paper that has the 5 deaths plastered on the front of it. What is going on here, why is this happening?

Well the reason really is quite simple, it gets readers. Whenever you have bad press it is going to attract a lot more readers than if something good was plastered on the front page. The world is messed up which is the major reason why all of this is happening!

People will then go on to read into more and more details on how the people died and the press will only say that it was their fault if drink or drugs were involved. If they were not then it is always presumed that the safety features of the car itself are to blame when this simply is not true. A lot of the time people just cannot be bothered to put their seatbelts on which means you get a nice taste of the windscreen if you have to brake suddenly or you crash.

Speeding is another cause of crashes and happens when some is going 70mph into someone coming around a corner. Instant death occurs most times this happens. The car manufacturers should not be put to blame here and it is the people driving them.

If you are seriously considering a new vehicle then look out for leasing vans.

Britain’s road infrastructure is spreading fast with many more charge-up point across the country.

Although London is actually he first place that this all started to happen there have been many other cities now interested in the idea. The next stop for the electric bandwagon is at the seaside in Brighton.

Brighton was chosen as the next destination because it is home to the company Elektromotive who of course are the ones behind all of the charging stations in London. There are just four stations at the moment in Brighton.

The Elektrobay is capable of charging fully electric and plug-in hybrid cars, with customers getting a key fob that wirelessly unlocks the unit for roadside charging.

The great thing is that by moving to a smaller place it is starting to show just how big of an impact it is all making.

There are actually two big reasons why people are just not that interested in buying one of these cars, one is because they are a bit rubbish and two is that there arent enough places to charge them. These are just two of the reasons people are not buying electirc cars.

However, once there is somewhere to charge up people will get them and that will in turn create demand for more research funding to make better cars.

So although there are actually not very many places where you can charge up your vehicle if you give it a bit of time we could be on to something here.

The real question that needs to be asked is will they be upgrading things likeused cars to make them greener? If you have recently gone out and purchased a Audi R8 then you are not going to be pleased when you cannot upgrade it to make it a bit greener. Audi Cars is merely one of the brands that needs some serious attention.

When purchasing a used car for yourself, you are making a very clever move. Not only will you find it much cheaper than buying a new car, you will also not have to worry about issues such as depreciation. At the end of the day, this is the reason used car are always much better value than new ones. A new car will have depreciated in value as soon as you drive it out of the car dealer’s showroom.

When deciding to buy a used car, however, you will need to be a bit more savvy than you would normally have to be when purchasing a brand new vehicle. For starters, new cars will obviously be guaranteed accident free, and if any issues to happen to arise, then the warranty will usually deal with these. Having said that, most used cars nowadays which are sold by car dealers will be in great condition and will be fully serviced before you drive it out of the showroom.

When looking for a car, you may have spotted a particular model and will be hell bent on getting that model. Nevertheless, there are some things you should really know before making a commitment to buy a used car. Some makes of used car are just mnot what they are cracked up to be and a far from reliable. Although the motor may look like the best thing since sliced bread, in reality it could be the most unreliable thing on four wheels. Before making any purchase decisions on the car you have chosen, make sure you carry out some research over the internet; visit forums and blogs to find out user reviews and comments.

Try to learn what the cars average value should be. That way you will have an idea of what the price should be before going into the car dealers to check. Following these simple tips will ensure you get the best car for your budget.

For outstanding used cars, or a lovely used bmw or used Peugeot would it not be superb to drive a new used car?

Nearly everyone here in the UK must have been to at least one car boot sale but why on earth do people go to these things on a regular occassion? Is it because many people cannot resist a bargain hunt or is it because you get dragged around it on a Sunday morning by your Nan?

Whatever the reason this is are these kinds of sales dying out or are they actually worth going to? It is really up to you on this. There are actually some decent reasons to be going to one of these sales.

Reason 1

On the rare occassion you could actually find something you are after at one of these sales. The reason is that most people have no idea on how their things are worth and some of these are actually worth a bit of money which is why you should always haggle people for the prices. One of the plus sides to these sales is that you can sometimes find really cheap things that you may be after and there are even TV programs based just on these boot sales.

Reason 2

You could always be very nice to your gran by taking her things that she buys for the nutters at the car boot. Carry the junk around for her and there might well be 50p in it for you.

The Bad Things

Reason 1

The thing is that these sales do not really sound too legal, scruffy looking people selling things from the back of their cars, hmmm? Sounds like something the law enforcement should get involved in.

Reason 2

In a lot of cases you cannot tell if the item works until you get it home. This is especially true for things like games and DVD’s as you cannot test to see if they are working until you get in and by this time it is often all too late.

So if you are thinking about being one of these sellers it could be worth looking into Audi leasing or Van Leasing to make sure you have the room for all the junk. Car leasing is also something else you could look into.
